GULABI MAHFA Hand-painted Madhubani Tussar Silk Saree
In mithila, in the olden days brides often went off in a Doli to her new home.
This DOLI was known as MAHFA in the Mithila region of Bihar in maithil language.
If you google this word you wont find it, as this is not very popular for many generations now. Luckily maa remembered it and she was sharing a story with us that is how we got to discover this word being very appropriate for the design on our pink bandhini madhubani saree.
On the aanchal we have our signature Doli design decorated with peacocks, dhol wala, band wala and beautiful nature of mithila. Borders of this saree has peacock borders, parlelly the dhol walas and dancers are painted on the second border. Borders on the chest have madhubani borders matching to the saree. Full body has bandhini work done by hands.
This saree comes with a matching running blouse in pink color with minimal artwork on sleeves and back. Blouse length- 90 to 100cm, width-44inch
